French swimming star and Olympic Gold medalist, Florent Manaudou, has become the newest Speedo ambassador after agreeing a four-year partnership with the world’s leading swimwear brand. As part of the agreement, Florent will wear Speedo swimwear and equipment during forthcoming events including the 15th FINA World Championships in Barcelona.
The announcement comes following Florent’s remarkable success at the 2012 Olympic Games, which saw him claim gold in the 50m Freestyle.
Following his success in London, Florent topped the podium on four occasions at the 2012 European Championships in Chartres, before capping a memorable year by claiming silver and bronze medals in the 50m Freestyle and 4x50m Freestyle events respectively at the 11th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) in Istanbul.
Regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in sprint swimming, Manaudou’s success throughout 2012 saw his explosive emergence on the world stage, and the 22-year-old will be looking to build upon his achievements in 2013 and beyond whilst wearing Speedo swimwear.
Sean Hastings, Vice President of Product and Marketing at Speedo International said:
“Florent Manaudou’s Gold medal success in the 50m Freestyle at the London Olympics will be remembered as one of the most exciting and closely fought races of the Games, and marked his emergence as one of swimming’s most exciting young talents.
“Speedo is passionate about supporting swimming in France, and we are delighted to announce this new partnership with Florent. We look forward to working closely with him to inspire people to swim throughout his future successes.”
